Theodore N. Lukits (1897-1992)

We have chosen to show a selection of Theodore Lukits' most delicate landscapes under the heading of "Dream Landscapes." These refined pastels often feature wispy trees that show the influence that Chinese landscapes had on the art of Theodore Lukits. some of these depict finely drawn trees silhouetted against watery landscapes - either shallow ponds or wetlands. The trunks of the trees were often drawn in pencil with the leaves laid in with lightly applied pastel.
